after leaving motown records in 1967, legendary songwriters trio edward holland jr., lamont dozier and brian holland kept on burning during the 70’s in their own invictus records. together with hot wax records - also a holland-dozier-holland label - it was hundreds of orgasmic, pure pleasure on vinyl.
the temptations, the psychedelic soul years.
and as i was standing by the edge,
i could see the faces of those led pissing theirselves laughing - and the flames grew.
their mad eyes buldged, their flushed faces said:
“the weak get crushed as the strong grow stronger”
in the funeral pyre
we’ll watch the flames grow higher!
but if you get too burnt
you can’t come back home.

the video.
this is (some parts of) my room.
i am surrounded by 400 cd’s, about 20 box sets, 200 lp’s, some books, some dvd’s, clothes hanging on the bed, closet, closet door, drawers, shoes on the floor and stuck on a mini-closet, memorabilia crap, four vinyl players, two computers… in a fucking tiny matchbox that a call a room.
(proudly living in the suburbs, people, proudly living in the suburbs… in a small, messy house)
every now and then i change my room’s layout. today was one of these days.
it feels like a fucking flea market.
my girlfriend gave me this beautiful portable vinyl player this weekend. :)
it’s an antique player from the 60’s, it needs some adjustments and after that it’s ready to go!
